Distance Learning for EMT and Advanced EMT Courses

Trinity EMS Academy presents the next step in the evolution of Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician training!

Distance learning offers the student a classroom environment in a virtual, closed circuit  format. The course requires the student to have a strong, steady internet connection, as the course lectures are given by live instructors over Skype video conference. If you do not have Skype on your computer, you may download it here for FREE.  You may also get Skype for Android and iOS through the app store. 

This format allows the student the opportunity to have a truly interactive learning session from the comfort of their own home. Questions may be asked of the instructor during the lecture and an answer received, all in real-time, just as in a physical classroom setting. Homework and other assignments will be completed in the MyLab Brady Learning Management System (LMS). Some quizzes and assignments will be completed either via email or from the Trinity EMS Academy website.

Students will log in to the Skype classroom on predetermined dates, at predetermined times, for lecture and subsequent assignments. Students will also be required to attend the physical classroom on predetermined dates and times for skills training and major exams.

While this is a virtual closed circuit learning course, it is NOT self-paced. Students are to adhere to the course schedule as prescribed within the syllabus.

Enrollment Requirements

*Required by Midtown Medical Center for ER clinical rotation during the Advanced EMT portion.

Immunizations

  • *Hep B 
  • *2 doses of MMR
  • *Tetanus within last 10 years
  • *TB Test (within 1 year)
  • *Influenza vaccine (flu vaccine)
  • *Varicella vaccine (or proof of Chicken Pox disease)

EMT Textbook Information

Please Note:  For the combination course, both the EMT and the Advanced EMT textbooks with online access will be needed. If the student wishes, they may purchase the EMT textbook package first, then purchase the Advanced EMT at a later date. However, the Advanced EMT textbook package is required for the Advanced EMT portion of the course.

EMT Tuition

Three ways to pay for your course.

  • Option 1 - VA Education Benefits

    If you are eligible, and would like to use your VA Education Benefits, please bring a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to the school.  You may email it to bobby.trinity@outlook.com as well.  If you do not have a copy, you may obtain one by completing the request at https://www.va.gov/education/how-to-apply/.  If you have previously used your benefits at another school, please go to https://www.va.gov/education/change-gi-bill-benefits/ and complete Forrm 22-1995 to change your school choice.  For any VA Education Benefits questions, contact the School Certifying Official (SCO), Bobby Funderburk at 706-940-0186.

    ​Course tuition: $2,500.00

    Registration fee: $40.00 (Non-refundable)

    Professional liability insurance: Included in tuition

    Lab fee: Included in tuition

    Uniform shirt: Included in tuition

    Please note: Students are responsible for the full amount of their tuition.  Any leftover tuition amounts after VA Education Benefits are paid will be the responsibility of the student.  Also, any student using Chapter 35 VA Education Benefits will be required to sign a monthly financial contract for the amount of their tuition.  Full course tuition, any accrued late fees, etc. must be paid in full before the student will be released to take their National Registry Cognitive Exam.​

    Initial down-payment of $600.00 required (due on or before the first day/night of class), then 5 monthly payments of $380.00.
